When something is so enigmatic and hard to see sometimes you have to get a stronger prescription. This same principle holds true when pluming the depths of scripture. As we dive down deeper and the water becomes murkier we have to switch to a different kind of light bearing tool…something designed specifically to give light for this kind of exploration.
The testimony of the Word of Yahweh says as much.
There has been built into the system of exegesis a specific tool needed to decipher what is in front of you when physical sunlight will not penetrate. When you get past the literal, obvious meaning and there remains a hint that there is more below the surface to unlock you need this tool. It is called the “Keys to the Kingdom“. Y’shua himself confirmed the existence of such a tool. In Matt 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven” This is a double-edged sword. Others were upbraided for ” having taken away the key of knowledge” Luke 11:5. To add more lateral scope there is a key to the bottomless pit, a key of David and even keys to death and Hades. That last one is encouraging, I’m all for keeping hell locked up!
When you talk about keys you are talking about encryption. And when you encrypt something to decode it you need keys or cypher’s. Let me say at this point the long history of keys or cypher’s as a way to encode information is long and interesting. Worth a google search.
If knowledge is power, then the key to power lies in unlocking all information down to its mysteries or secrets. The bible uses these words and others when describing this Tarot ha Sod level. This sophisticated biblical understanding was the domain of the WISE, it’s information was too powerful and adult themed to let children, enemies and the profane get at it. This was entrusted to priests, prophets, Patriarchs, seers and scribes. Those learned in Torah. But we also find a problem with these elite knowledge bearers. There seems to have been a game of lost and found tucked away in the scriptural story.
In the Gospel of Thomas we have a mind bending quote ” Y’shua or Jesus if you prefer said: “The Pharisees and the scribes have taken the keys of knowledge (and) have hidden them. They did not go in, and those who wished to go in they did not allow. ” A 2nd witness to this quote is found in the Clementine Homilies chpt XVIII “the Scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses seat; whatsoever things they say to you, hear them, He said, as one entrusted with the key of the kingdom, which is knowledge, which alone can open the gate of life, through which alone is the entrance to the eternal life. But truly, he says, they possess the key, but those wishing to enter they do not suffer to do so.”
Could there really have been a kinda shorthand code book where the cheat sheet was kept. In studying the Dead Sea Scrolls I came upon two very interesting passages that alluded to such a thing. Let me say this is basically the definition of the “Oral Torah”, a systematic oral transmission that was given by Elohim to Moshe on Mt Sinai. Moses gave it to the 70 Elders and from there it was transferred to a faithful priestly remnant in each generation. This is why the Qumran Essenes, a Zadakite priestly line from Eleazar son of Aaron were known as the “keepers of the secrets“. They had strict probationary periods where initiates were “educated in the holy books” that were beyond the scope of the Jewish Bible. Secrecy is stressed and only those found worthy after a probationary period, where they tested to make sure that they did “not communicate, to any one in any way, either by writing them or giving them in writing, or giving them to a writer…or through any other imitation or trick, method, or by keeping them carelessly, or placing them before anyone. ..” This transmission has always occurred in a “concealed mode” and via “paradoxes”. Again Y’shua confirms this in Matt 13:11 “ the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know (his disciples), but it has not been given to them. ” When his disciples asked him why he was speaking in parables to the crowds he quoted from Isaiah that people who are “dull of hearing,” those who have not applied themselves to Torah study will not understand and will not perceive so why throw “pearls to swine”. This is all in keeping with the meaning of the OT word SOD #5475 which means a secret council where you get secret counsel! In other words if you are not invited to the meeting , hang it up, you’re not in the “know.”
Harsh. Sounds like serious business to me.
This is all told clearly in 2 Esdras 12:36-39 which tells clearly about books for the “wise”. Again in 2 Esdras 14:5 “And He told him many wondrous things, and shewed him the secrets of the times, and the end; and commanded him, saying, 6 These words shalt thou declare, and these shalt thou hide.” Another confirming witness.
Back to the Dead Sea Scrolls. In the book “The Dead Sea Scrolls” by Wise, Abegg and Cook. On page 56 of the “Damascus Document” there is a highly enigmatic quote “… but David had not read the sealed book of the Law IN THE ARK (of the Covenant), for it had not been opened in Israel from the day of the death of Eleazar and Joshua…” This reading is also confirmed in the translation by Geza Vermes “The Dead Sea Scrolls in English” pg 100. Interesting we have a “sealed” book which btw means HIDDEN. We are still tracking. Now in another DSS text, newly translated called “The Test of a True Prophet” we find what seems to be this same “sealed book“. The text speaks of a procedure to test a “prophet who arises” to see if he is speaking truth in accordance with all the statues of Yahweh your Elohim. If not this “prophet must be put to death”. It seems there were secret “laws” unknown to the generality of Israel that were kept in or near the Ark. The High Priest retired there and studied to determine whether the prophet was true or false. While there are many locutions in the text the gist of which says “there he (the High Priest) shall study (all the commandments of) the Lord, comparing all the laws that have been kept secret from you. Finally he shall emerge into the presence of all the leaders of the assembly. ” To render a verdict. To see if heads are gonna roll.
Sounds Harsh. But when you are in a war and someone tries to intercept, change or confuse the orders what happens. Preicsely.
Over and over we find the same story being told. Mysteries, Secrets, Sealed Up. And to add drama the last generation gets to finally and fully “bring to the light” this highly esteemed knowledge in all of its ramifications. “For everything hidden is meant to be revealed, and everything concealed is meant to be brought to light. “Mark 4:22. The Book of Enoch tells us that Enoch’s “eyes were opened by Yahweh Adonai” and he “heard everything from them, and I understood what I saw: but not for this generation, but for a distant generation that will come.” Here is a marathon run thru scriptures you can look up to confirm this inconvenient truth!
Dan 12:9 “Go now, Daniel, for what I have said is kept secret and sealed until the time of the end.”
Dan 12:4 “But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book until the time of the end…”
Dan 2:22 “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.”
Is 29:10 “For the LORD has poured out upon you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes (the prophets), and covered your heads (the seers).”
Is 29:11 The entire vision will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which when they give it to the one who is literate, saying, “Please read this,” he will say, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”
Is 8:16 “Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.”
Amos 3:7 “For the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.”
Dan 2:47 “The king answered Daniel and said, “Surely your God is a God of gods and a Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, since you have been able to reveal this mystery.”
Ps 78:2 “I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old.”
Wisdom 2:2 “And they knew not the secrets of God..”
Suffice it to say we have a theme. This is many times referred to as true “wisdom and knowledge” but to just unpack those 2 words is a whole blog. Let me go quickly to one of my favorite texts from the Dead Sea Scrolls called “The Secret of the Way Things Are” …just the title alone says it all. But some phrases lifted from translations confirms our premise. “….you, enlightened one…..will understand the awesome secrets of the wonders of Elohim….you will know truth and evil, wisdom and falsehood, the world eras and the eternal punishment…..For the Elohim of knowledge is the council of Truth and in the secret of the way things are…..and with the faculty of understanding the secrets of His purposes are made known…” Clearly all our writers of all these divergent texts from all ages and stages of history are saying the same thing. Nothing new under the sun.
But I will close out in the New Testament lest someone think this is all” old covenant” thinking. The combarable NT word in the Greek is mysterion # 3466, translated mystery. Now this is a solvable mystery, one you are to pursue and figure out! Seek and you shall find. We have established Y’shua was fully versed and carrying forward this tradition handed down from Enoch and Moses. Paul also was fully initiated and got a few of the “Mysteries” of El that were going to start playing out in his day. Lets do our last scripture run thru.
Rom 11:25 “For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery….”
Rom 16:25 “Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past…”
1 Corth 2:7 “But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.”
1 Corin 4:1 “So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.”
Eph 3:3-4 “that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief. By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ.”
Eph 3:9 “and to illuminate for everyone the stewardship of this mystery, which for ages past was hidden in God, who created all things.”
It should be apparent that Yahweh has hidden in plain sight what I like to call “his intel” his most secret plans …hidden from his enemy but revealed to his true prophets and servants. From here on out I want to start disseminating some “keys” I have discovered. Backed up by scripture and confirmed by the prophets.
Now my whole point in bringing forth this inconvenient truth ..IS THAT YOU CAN”T MAKE IT UP”. And most importantly it is not “gnostic” as defined by the Nag Hammadi codices, which I do not consider part of Yahweh Elohim’s wisdom tradition. This has all been established before the foundations of the world. Gentile Christians especially need to humble themselves and become Torah scholars and sages, the “kings and priests” scripture tells us we are. We need to repent of all the “doctrines of demons” as Paul says that will be in the church at the end of the age. We need to get down to business, believe this, and as do Enoch said the job of the Elect in the last generation was… to get back these “keys”. Lets get our marching orders straight from this Patriarch, Enoch, the 7th from Adam. The Book of Enoch prophecies in chpt 104 :10 “And now I know this MYSTERY, that sinners will alter and pervert the words of righteousness in many ways, and will speak wicked words, and lie, and practice great deceits, and write books concerning their words. 11. But when they (the Elect) write down truthfully all my words in their languages, and do not change or diminish aught from my words but write them all down truthfully–all that I first testified concerning them. 12. Then, I know another MYSTERY, that books will be given to the righteous and the wise to become a cause of joy and uprightness and much wisdom. 13. And to them shall the books be given, and they shall believe in them and rejoice over them, and then shall all the righteous who have learnt therefrom all the paths of uprightness be recompensed.”
Praise Yah he had, has and always will have a plan for the righteous.
